CRUSADER ACHIEVES INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP AWARD
Crusader Caravans is a proud member of the Caravan Industry Association of Victoria and has long supported industry initiatives that improve the professionalism of the caravan industry generally and Crusaders own high standards of excellence.
The Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Victoria leads the country in training initiatives designed to improve skills in all aspects of the industry including the many trades associated with the manufacture of caravans, much of which occurs out of factory’s located in and around Melbourne but the industry also realises that there is a need for leaders tasked with the management and control of such concerns and the Leadership training course offered is the pinnacle in developing leadership skills.
The Caravan Trade & Industries Association of Victoria (CTIA) recently awarded the prized Performance Edge Leadership Management Diploma to Crusaders Erkut Fevzi at a leadership graduation presentation held at CTIA headquarters located in Melbourne.
Erkut Fevzi is Crusaders General Operations Manager responsible for the management and control of the all-important areas of purchasing, planning, production and quality control.
“I am proud of the CTIA leadership award, we have a motivated and skilled workforce at Crusader and the skills I have learnt from the course will serve me well as we seek to improve further”.
Erkuts’ background is in manufacturing and after achieving a Batchelor of Management Systems Engineering he joined Delphi Automotive Systems before being enticed over to Crusader Caravans by Serge Valentino, owner and Managing Director of Crusader.
“My task is to build a caravan to high professional and quality standards that exceeds the expectation of the marketplace” said Mr Fevzi “We have introduced multiple tiers of audit and quality assurance controls to ensure that as far as humanly possible, every caravan exiting the factory production line meets our documented standards”.
Each caravan undergoes a number of strict inspections even before the caravan commences production. Upon receipt of an order from a customer, Crusader checks the detail and after authorising the order, demands that the dealer and customer sign off especially drawn plans to ensure all parties are in agreeance with the specification of the caravan to be produced.
Quality control managers Jessica Kuistono and Chris Lim perform detailed inspections checks against a comprehensive quality checklist at every stage of production from the time the chassis arrived through to the finished product.
Each caravan is individually weighed and water tested in Crusaders monsoon water test facility then a final factory QA check is performed before being handed over to the “White Glove” inspector for the last quality inspection. A final dispatch check is carried out just prior to the caravan being transported to the dealer and the selling dealer is required to undertake a stringent Pre delivery inspection and testing regime prior to handover to the customer.
